Clean Freaks is excited to announce that we are now officially IJCSA Master Green Cleaning Certified, proving our commitment to providing safe, sustainable, and environmentally responsible cleaning services. Through the IJCSA Master Green Cleaning Certification Program, we gained in-depth knowledge about the harmful effects of toxic cleaning chemicals and how they impact human health, indoor air quality, and the planet. The course taught us about proper green cleaning techniques, the benefits of using eco-friendly products, and how to reduce our carbon footprint while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness. We also learned how small changes—such as switching to microfiber cloths, biodegradable cleaners, and energy-efficient equipment—can make a big difference for both our clients and the environment.

One of the most interesting aspects of the course was learning how green cleaning not only protects the environment but also improves health and productivity. Many traditional cleaning chemicals release volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that contribute to respiratory problems, allergies, and long-term health risks. By using certified green products and sustainable cleaning methods, Clean Freaks can now ensure safer air quality and healthier indoor spaces for our customers. The IJCSA also provided valuable resources on waste reduction, recycling, and the importance of using concentrated cleaning solutions to minimize plastic waste—helping us do our part to fight global issues like the Great Pacific Garbage Patch.

By implementing everything we learned from the IJCSA Master Green Cleaning course, Clean Freaks is not only protecting our planet but also saving money and operating more efficiently. Green cleaning methods reduce the need for harsh chemicals, lower equipment maintenance costs, and minimize waste disposal fees. Energy-efficient practices and water conservation techniques have further reduced our operating expenses while boosting sustainability. When you hire Clean Freaks, you’re supporting a company that genuinely cares about the environment, your health, and the future of our planet. Visit the IJCSA Green Cleaning Directory to learn more about certified green cleaning professionals like us—because together, we can make a cleaner, greener world!

In today’s world, environmental awareness and sustainability are no longer optional — they are essential. Choosing to be a green cleaner or operate a green cleaning company demonstrates a commitment to protecting people, pets, and the planet. Unlike traditional cleaning methods that rely on harsh and toxic chemicals, green cleaning practices use environmentally friendly products and sustainable methods that are safe, effective, and healthier for everyone involved. Green cleaning helps reduce air and water pollution, lowers human exposure to toxins, and contributes to a cleaner, more sustainable future.

One of the main advantages of green cleaning is the protection it provides for human health. Many conventional cleaning products contain volatile organic compounds (VOCs), ammonia, chlorine, and other harmful substances that can trigger respiratory issues, allergies, skin irritation, and long-term health problems. In contrast, eco-friendly cleaning products are made from natural ingredients that are non-toxic and biodegradable. They clean effectively without leaving behind dangerous residues or releasing harmful fumes. For businesses and homes alike, this means healthier indoor air quality and a safer environment for employees, clients, children, and pets.

Another major benefit of being a green cleaner is the positive environmental impact. Hazardous cleaning chemicals often wash down drains and end up contaminating soil, rivers, and oceans. This pollution contributes to ecological damage, harming wildlife and ecosystems. Additionally, the overuse of plastics in packaging and disposable cleaning materials contributes to massive waste accumulation, including the Great Pacific Garbage Patch, a floating mass of plastic debris affecting marine life and even entering the human food chain through microplastics. Green cleaning companies often use recyclable packaging, refillable containers, and eco-safe cleaning tools to minimize waste and reduce plastic pollution.

Being a green cleaning certified company through organizations such as the International Janitorial Cleaning Services Association (IJCSA) adds credibility and value to your business. The IJCSA Green Cleaning Certification Program helps cleaning professionals adopt sustainable practices, select approved green products, and ensure compliance with environmental standards. Customers looking for safe and sustainable cleaning options can find certified green cleaners in the IJCSA Green Cleaning Directory. Certification not only helps companies demonstrate their commitment to health and environmental responsibility but also gives them a competitive advantage in today’s eco-conscious marketplace.

Furthermore, green cleaning supports a company’s reputation, efficiency, and long-term cost savings. By switching to reusable supplies, concentrated cleaners, and sustainable operations, businesses reduce waste and lower overall costs. Clients are increasingly seeking out companies that align with their values — and environmental responsibility is at the top of that list. Green cleaners can proudly market themselves as leaders in sustainability, showcasing their certification and practices as part of their brand identity.

In conclusion, being a green cleaner or operating a green cleaning company isn’t just about keeping spaces clean — it’s about protecting lives, preserving the planet, and promoting a healthier future. By adopting green cleaning practices, reducing plastic waste, and using safe, non-toxic products, you contribute to a global effort to safeguard our ecosystems and improve human well-being. Joining the movement through the IJCSA Green Cleaning Directory connects you with a professional network of like-minded cleaners dedicated to making the world a cleaner, safer, and greener place for generations to come.

Medical cleaning practices are very strict in the sense that there are rules to follow when it comes to the cleaning. Since medical facilities need to be properly clean to avoid patient getting sick medical cleaning practices can benefit residential and commercial places. The majority of people won’t be familiar with some of the rules and proper methods went dealing with cleaning chemical.

Some of those standards can help other residential and commercial situations in the sense that if they can implement a higher standard of cleaning there would be less people getting sick. There would be a lower number of people calling in sick to work and to school. Medical cleaning practices implementation at home can also help you avoid going to the doctor because of bacteria’s or virus that could have been avoidable if we were to do a deeper cleaning with the right cleaning chemicals.

A good idea to implement is to have a higher standardard level of cleaning for all types of situations, for homes and work places. By implementing medical cleaning practices across the board we can have a better control when it comes to people getting sick. According to the CDC, cleaning alone effectively reduces the number of microorganisms on contaminated equipment. Now imagine having the knowledge to use the correct chemicals it can really impact us in a good way.

Now, that we are in a pandemic cleaning is crucial and knowing and implementing the high standards of medical cleaning can keep a better control of the spread. For example, knowing that we should clean with color rags that way we are not cross contaminating areas and knowing about how to correctly use chemical that can kill harmful virus and germs. Medical cleaning practices are known for being some of the most strict and detail focused standards in the cleaning industry. In hospitals and clinics, infection control is a top priority, and the cleaning routines are designed to protect patients, staff, and visitors from harmful bacteria, germs, and viruses. These same principles can be applied outside of healthcare facilities, bringing better protection to residential homes, office buildings, schools, and other public spaces. By adopting healthcare cleaning methods in everyday cleaning, we can reduce the spread of illness and make environments safer for everyone.

One way to bring medical cleaning practices into other settings is by focusing on high touch surface disinfection. Healthcare cleaning professionals know that germs spread fastest through door handles, light switches, desks, and shared equipment. Using EPA registered disinfectants, following proper dwell times, and training staff to consistently clean these surfaces can dramatically lower the risk of outbreaks in offices and schools. In residential cleaning, wiping down remotes, phones, and kitchen handles with the same careful approach used in medical cleaning can keep families healthier year round.

Another key practice is adopting universal precautions in all cleaning situations. In healthcare, this means treating all bodily fluids as potentially infectious, but the same logic applies in other environments. Wearing gloves, using proper personal protective equipment (PPE), and handling trash or spills carefully protects cleaning staff and building occupants alike. In commercial cleaning, this approach shows clients that safety and infection control are taken seriously. In homes, it gives peace of mind that cleaning is more than just surface clean, it is about real protection.

The value of bringing medical cleaning practices into wider use is simple: healthier people and safer spaces. With new viruses and germs always a concern, applying healthcare cleaning standards to homes, offices, and public buildings is a smart way to protect the population. At IJCSA, our members are trained and committed to using these best practices in all kinds of environments, not just hospitals. To find professionals who can provide this higher level of cleaning service, visit the IJCSA Janitorial Service Directory and connect with experts near you. Together, by raising the standards of cleaning, we can help protect our communities and the world from harmful bacteria, germs, and viruses.

It is important for cleaning employees to be aware of bloodborne pathogens and the risks that come from them. But first we need to understand what they are. Bloodborne pathogens are disease-causing microorganisms in human blood which include HBV and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV).

It's essential for employers to have knowledge on the procedures that are used to be cautious to help prevent the spread of bloodborne pathogens. One way could be by taking special training classes to increase their knowledge on precautions they can take. Without these training classes the employees could be at risk of getting infected if the proper measures aren't taken.

In conclusion lmk following the right steps when dealing with body fluids/ blood could prevent life threatening diseases in the workplace.

Employees and Staff should know and recognize the importance of knowing and understanding bloodborne pathogens because if everyone is aware of precautions it will help prevent exposure to potentially infectious diseases, will provide education on how to handle if an exposure happens and will help keep everyone in your facility safe.

As a proud owner of PScleaning, we pride ourselves in understanding and helping our cleaners know the importance it takes to be aware of Bloodborne pathogens. When everyone is safe and aware of precautions, they are better able to assist with proper clean up.

With proper education on how to handle and exposure, it all goes down the line and helps everyone stay protected and safe. In order to control exposure safely you need to implement and exposure plan, so all employees and employers are aware of what to do. Provide universal precautions so at all times everyone is treating all spills of hazardous material as infectious. Make sure to have proper training for employees and employers, as well as follow standard precautions to prevent spread and exposure.

To conclude, if everyone is aware and understands the importance of bloodborne pathogens, everyone can be safe and prevent exposure of potentially hazardous materials.

Medical cleaning practices are among the most advanced and effective methods of infection prevention. These practices, used in hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare environments, focus on removing and killing harmful pathogens to prevent the spread of disease. Implementing these same high-level cleaning standards into residential and commercial settings can significantly reduce exposure to bacteria, germs, and viruses that threaten public health. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC, 2024), consistent disinfection of high-touch surfaces and proper use of hospital-grade cleaning agents are key to stopping the spread of infectious diseases. By applying these methods beyond healthcare, professional cleaning companies can create safer, healthier environments for families, employees, and communities.

The foundation of medical-grade cleaning lies in infection control. In healthcare facilities, professional cleaners follow strict protocols that include the use of EPA-registered disinfectants, color-coded microfiber cloths to prevent cross-contamination, and systematic cleaning from “clean to dirty” zones. These same principles can be applied in homes, offices, and industrial spaces to elevate sanitation standards. For example, janitorial teams can use hospital-grade disinfectants on kitchen counters, doorknobs, and restroom fixtures—common areas where pathogens like E. coli, Salmonella, and cold or flu viruses often thrive. Similarly, commercial spaces can benefit from medical-style cleaning schedules that emphasize frequent disinfection of high-traffic areas such as breakrooms, lobbies, and shared workstations. By using healthcare cleaning methods, businesses can reduce employee absenteeism, improve air quality, and protect both clients and staff.

Protecting the population and the world from harmful bacteria and viruses is not just a professional responsibility—it is a moral one. The COVID-19 pandemic highlighted how quickly viruses can spread and the importance of maintaining clean and hygienic environments across all sectors. Integrating medical cleaning practices into everyday cleaning helps minimize outbreaks, safeguard vulnerable individuals, and promote long-term wellness. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) both emphasize the importance of regular disinfection, proper ventilation, and safe chemical handling to prevent illness (OSHA, 2023). By educating cleaning staff and homeowners on proper sanitation techniques—such as using PPE, practicing hand hygiene, and following dwell times for disinfectants—we can collectively work toward a healthier planet.

Partnering with certified cleaning professionals is one of the best ways to ensure these standards are met. The International Janitorial Cleaning Services Association (IJCSA) provides education, certification, and resources for cleaning companies worldwide to deliver high-quality, medical-grade cleaning services. Through the IJCSA Janitorial Services Directory, residential and commercial clients can find trained professionals who understand healthcare-level cleaning requirements. These certified members are knowledgeable about biohazard cleanup, bloodborne pathogen safety, and infection control best practices. By hiring or modeling operations after IJCSA-certified companies, cleaning businesses can extend medical cleaning excellence to every home and workplace—protecting communities and contributing to a safer, cleaner world for all.

It is crucial to maintain safe workplace cleaning practices as germs and viruses continue to remain a high potential health risk for everyone in a healthcare environment. Viruses such as Hepatitis B can survive on surfaces for up to one week stated by OSHA.  Germs and viruses are so common in a healthcare facility that in 2003; OSHA guidelines stated the ten most common pathogens make up eighty-four percent of all HAI. Study has shown one in twenty people will catch health associated infection. WWW.Betco.Com understand the importance of using cleaning tools and solutions that follow protocol guidelines to effectively remove and kill off surfaces prone to attract and or may be large role players in transmission of bacteria from high touch areas.

Viruses can be transmitted through contact, airborne and contact/droplet making it very common to catch Utilizing Betco cleaning protocals is used to effectively disinfect and sanitize all surfaces with approved solutions. It is important not only for surface cleaning, it is essential to practice proper hand washing hygiene whether visibly dirty or not; to help prevent common germs and viruses for being spread, as we touch everything and also don't want to bring work home from touching personal belongings

Following safety guidelines set forth by OSHA standards and utilizing cleaning practices and approved solutions from www.betco.com and hiring essential members from IJCSA directory whom have gone through the necessary training; is a strong proactive approach to health safety in the healthcare facilities workplace. Knowing how common the HAI are and how easily transmitted viruses are, the use of chemical solutions used to sanitize and disinfect safely and effectively comes from MSDSs provided by employers for the right to know hazard risks. Employers must develop a post written schedule for cleaning and decontamination- the procedures must account for surface types, soil types and tasks. Following proper protocals in the workplace can help prevent spread of common germs and viruses
