The Importance of Cleaning Employees & Staff Knowing About Bloodborne Pathogens

17 May 2025 5:40 PM | Mia Mendoza

Cleaning employees and staff of any facility should have a very good knowledge about blood born pathogens to protect themselves and others from any infections or diseases that might be caught. These people likely deal with BBP's on a daily basis and that is why this knowledge is so important. BBP's are infectious microorganisms that can cause serious diseases like HIV.

One of the ways to protect yourself from BBP's is with proper PPE. PPE is personal protective equipment like gloves and face masks. Making sure to wash your hands often is another way to protect yourself and others from BBP's.

In conclusion, training is so important for cleaning employees and staff to make sure that nobody gets sick from BBP's. This knowledge is a requirement of OSHA as well. OSHA is the Occupational Safety and Health administration. Together, we can ensure the health and well-being of all our cleaning employees and staff!
